Energy-neutral in Open
Iconic in design and sustainability
With Open, we have created an iconic building – not just in relation to the architecture and materials but also in terms of sustainability. Besides being situated in beautiful green surroundings, the building is also green in terms of its energy efficiency. This is because its sustainable energy system ensures that Open generates almost as much energy as it uses. Open is fully equipped with energy-generating and energy-saving features, such as solar panels on the roof, insulating and reflective glass, heat/cold storage in the soil and LED lighting. All of these features lead to the lowest possible energy demand and energy consumption for your office.
Open is
BREEAM
Excellent performance based on
sustainable energy
Open ranks high in terms of the sustainability of the building itself and its effect on the surroundings. Based on our requirements, the building has been awarded a BREEAM quality label for the sustainability factor. For us, this was one of the key issues when the office building was being realised. All points on which the building was assessed lead to a healthier and more productive working and living environment. Which is exactly what we want to achieve with Open.
Besides its green facade, Open has green roofs on the various levels, all playing their own unique part in water catchment and electricity generation. What makes Open extra special is its partly circular construction and management. Old materials are consciously recycled so that there is less waste, for example. Moreover, the food grown on the roof gardens is used as ingredients in the restaurant.
In short: Open is environmentally-friendly and very pleasant to work in.
